Description: Climate services must be driven by user needs and based on sound science supported by appropriate infrastructure and delivery systems. The panel will demonstrate the practical benefits of an organized system underpinned by integration, cooperation and coordination in addressing the full value chain of the critical elements that need to be in place and the interactions across the components to enable operational climate services. It will also provide lessons on contributions from the global to the national level through partnerships.

Description: There is strong international commitment to the GFCS. Various partners are working with governments and organizations in support of activities carried out as part of national efforts. These partnerships are providing concrete examples at the national level which underline key principles, practices, procedures and requirements for effective climate services.

Description: A growing number of countries are establishing capabilities for offering climate services. They are building on their experiences in providing weather and climate information to create targeting specific users. Examples the developing to developed countries will underline key requirements and challenges for effective climate services.
